Welcome to Schwung Farm. Keeping our horses
happy is extremely important to us. From feeding
to the farrier and from training schedules to nap
time, we are constantly looking for ways to keep
our horses healthy and comfortable. All seven of
the 12x12 stalls have a private turn out paddock
with Dutch doors to allow constant airflow. The
floors are covered in InterLoc rubber mats and
bedded with cedar shavings. The extra wide
isleway was paved in heavily gripped concrete
and our wash rack in lined in rubber matting as
well.

New in the Spring of 2007 will be the six stall
edition to our facilities. A third arena, additional
hay storage and wash rack will also be included.

The tack room is insulated and has many
storage options. There is a rubber pad laid with
each set of cross ties. Feeding is very important
to us. We feed grain three times per day and hay
six times. We keep a great selection of orchard
grass, timothy mix and alfalfa hay on hand at all
times. Each horse has a specialized grain
program that balances with changes in work
load or the growth pattern of our younger horses.
The indoor arena has a great mixture of sand,
rubber and sawdust for footing. Twice a year it is
treated with Calcium/Chloride to keep it dust
free. In the summer of 2006, new footing was
added. Every corner is lined in mirrors and the
majority of the long side. There are four
entrances into this arena and you can go straight
to the jump field from the back door.
The Olympic sized outdoor arena is set close to
the back of the barn. We keep a large size
dressage ring set up all year round. Large pots of
flowers mark each letter and on the outside of
the ring there are many different flowers, shrubs
and trees to achieve a wonderfully natural
atmosphere while schooling. The footing is a mix
of screenings and slag which stays ridable all
year long. This arena is also treated to remain
dust free year round. A large portion of outdoor
mirrors is along the short side at C.
We are currently adding a third ring that will be
placed at the top of the hill on the cross country
course. This ring will be enclosed and will include
an extra large roundpen to be used while starting
young horses.
Our inviting cross country course is always kept
well manicured and mowed. Riders have the
option of flat land or hills for schooling and there
are over 35 jumps on the course. They range
from small log jumps, hay bales, barrels and tire
jumps to cord wood piles, coups and picket
fences. There is a small creek that runs through
the land and it is great for schooling your horse
to water. Before designing the course, we
removed all rocks from the footing and planted
the entire area with turf grass.

Schooling sessions can be arranged for the cross
country course in addition to lessons over fences.
