Paxton Farm CDI*** Cincinnati & Spring Classic I & II

We all had a great time at our first show of the year! Sean Gatton took his 5 year old Hanoverian Elliott Ness
to their very first dressage show. Sean has been riding Elliott for only six months and did a great job of
schooling his young horse in a very busy and overwhelming show situation. On Sunday judge M. Schneider
placed them 4th in their large Training level class. Jackie Lipton's 3 year old Georgian Grande gelding  FWF
Prince of Thieves also went to his first dressage show under saddle and handled everything quite well. His first
test was full of his famous "expression", but on Sunday he was much more serious and they placed 2nd! Kelly
took her newly imported KWPN gelding Super to his first US competition and he was great. We found out that
likes to assert himself in the schooling ring thinking that he owns the place. All of that attitude made for some
awesome schooling and Kelly is looking forward to their first tests at the KDA show next weekend. Fallon's 4
year old Hanoverian Guilliani was the third highest scoring 4 year old out of the large field of USEF & FEI
Young Horses at this show. Although the weekends extreme heat took a toll on Guilli's performance, he still
managed to qualify for the Markel/USEF Young Horse National Championships on his first test of the year! He
also scored a 69% and 70% in the USEF Four Year Old Tests. All four judges commented on his clock-like
rhythm and good relaxation in all three gaits. Congratulations to everyone on a great first outing!
21st Annual Breeders Classic, Spring Warm-Up & Spring Classic Dressage

This show was very fun and everyone of the horses we took showed a marked improvement from the first show
of the year. Fallon & Jackie signed up for the Breed Show held on the Wednesday and Thursday before the
dressage competition started. This show was held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky over
Memorial Day weekend. Jackie Lipton won the 3 Year Old Colts/Geldings Material class with over a 70% and
placed 3rd in the Friesian Sport Horse In-Hand class. Judge Carter Bass gave him a 7.2 for his gaits and said he
was a wonderful supple mover. Fallon took Guilliani in the Suitability for Dressage class. There were six riders
in this class and Guilliani tied for top honors with two incredible horses. Judge Debbie Riehl-Rodriguez said it
was an extremely hard decision to make between the top three horses. She commented on Guilliani's "perfect
rhythm and his willingness to go forward". She felt that his gaits were exceptional and loved his temperament.
On Friday Sean Gatton was first to go aboard Elliott Ness. They had a lovely clean test and placed third. Anita
Owen gave a 7 for Elliott's gaits and said that they are a great pair! Good work! Kelly went in next on the lovely
KWPN gelding Super. She received great comments from judge Trip Harting on Super's lateral work and
extensions. Jackie took Phantom in during the heat of the day and also had a great test. She tied for fourth place
with a 60.4%. Last to go was Fallon & Guilliani and they competed in the USEF Four Year Old Test. Guilliani
was incredible scoring almost an 80% and receiving 4 out of 5 marks over 8.0! Judge Trip Harting commented
on Guilliani's extremely free shoulders and great lateral suppleness. And seeing as how he never even saw his
show ring until he went down centerline, we were all very proud of Guilliani for having such a wonderful test. On
Saturday, Jackie & Sean did great again. Elliott was a bit tired, but still bested his scores from Paxton receiving
another 7 on gaits. Despite a chair being drop right beside  Phantoms show ring, he still scored over a 60% and
judge Trip Harting thought he was great. His canter was "exuberant" and he also marked a 7 for gaits. Fallon
would like to thank her mom Kelly, Mr. & Mrs. Lipton, Jackie Lipton and Sean Gatton for making this show a
fun and successful one for everybody! Here are some photos, but more are coming soon.....
Dressage at Grand Haven

Everyone did really well at this show! The weekend started off on a bad note when Jenny Lipton's mare Chance
pulled a tendon in her back leg. We were all looking very forward to Jenny competing Chance. We were all very
glad that she decided to come along anyways. Jenny is one of best braiders around and we couldn't have done it
without her! Her sister Jackie took her 3 year old Georgian Grande gelding and took third in the Training 4
AA/YR class with a 61%+. Judge Debbie Riehl-Rodriguez gave Phantom a 8 on his gaits and told Jack that she
is a lovely, elegant rider. Cindy Babb brought her 5 year old Westfalen Calvin to his first dressage after being
recently imported from the Netherlands. They did very well at Training 1 & 2 and the judges had some great
remarks! Kelly took her also recently imported KWPN gelding Super into his first FEI Int. II test. Although
Kelly has only been riding him for 5 months, the pair showed off some incredible piaffe/passage work which the
judge loved. Kelly is looking forward to our next show,, so she can continue Super's education at this level.
Fallon took her 4 year old Hanoverian gelding Guilliani out for the first time at First Level Test 4 Open. They
won the test with a 66.7% and received 9's on their lengthenings! Judge Willian Solyntjes told Fallon that
Guilliani is active and supple and soon will be capable of much higher scores. Fallon is extremely proud of her
young horse for doing so well at such complicated test. Now he has the scores needed to compete in his USEF
First Level Freestyle at some of the upcoming shows this summer. Thanks to the Lipton Family and Cindy Babb
from Fallon and Kelly on making this weekend so much fun. Thank you to Mr. Lipton for his awesome DVD
work at all of the shows we have competed at this season.
Mid-Ohio Dressage Classic I & II

Guilliani was the only horse from our farm to enter this competition. We got to visit with Super, who was there
with his new owners. We went down on Thursday to school at the Delaware Fairgrounds. After familiarizing
Guilliani with his competition arena, we had a short schooling session and put him away to let him get some
sleep. The next morning I got to watch several of the horses in our class school (it was a rather large class) and
then I started my warm-up. Guilliani was absolutely lovely and I was very excited thinking that this was going to
be our best test yet. Well as I entered the competition arena, Guilliani caught a glimpse of his sister being hand
walked around the grounds just behind our ring! Well Guillani started screaming for her and totally lost all
concentration. He "talked" through most of our trot work and finally quieted down during the walk. Our test was
a little tense, but remained mistake free. After my final salute, the judges announced their scores to the crowd.
The started off by saying that they were extremely happy that I decided to bring Guilliani to this competition.
They continued by saying that they both loved the fact that he kept a confident rhythm and swing through out his
trot work even with the distraction and felt that he had much to offer during this test. His walk, trot and canter
scored an 8.0 as well as his overall impression, but due to the bit of a rough start they pulled his submission
mark down to a 7.8. I was very proud of him for keeping it together in then ring and even more happy when I
found out that he had won the class. Now we are looking forward to the Markel/USEF National Young Horse
Dressage Championships in September...
NODA Dressage 2007

Dressage 2007 was held at Grand Haven Stables in Jefferson, Ohio on July 28th & 29th. This was a very fun,
relaxing show with absolutely perfect weather! Guilliani competed in his first freestyle today and did great. In
the beginning of the test, he was very surprised to hear the music when it started, but he quickly settled in and
received a 68.5% placing 3rd out of the 9 freestyle rides. Judge Marilyn Heath gave the music a score of 85
points! On Sunday, Fallon and Guilliani entered the USDF First Level 4 Open and won with a 73.7%. This score
ended up making them First Level Open High Score Champions for the show. He received 9's on his gaits,
lengthenings and on his walk work. After the test, the judge stopped Fallon and told her that she "Truly enjoyed
watching every minute of this test..." and wrote that she believes Guilliani to be a "Super talented young
horse!!" This was a great weekend and makes us all look forward to coming back to Grand Haven next
weekend for the Summer Dressage at Grand Haven show.
Dressage at Grand Haven Stables

Another great show! Kelly took her 4 year old Hanoverian gelding Piazzano on his first outing after coming to
the US from the Verden Equitop Auction only two weeks ago. He was absolutely wonderful! He was a little
"rowdy" during her first ride, but quickly realized he was no longer at the auction and settled right in. Sean
Gatton took some wonderful photos of her rides that will be posted soon. Fallon's student Jackie Lipton took
the every improving "Phantom" with us and had their best competition to date. On Saturday they scored a
64%+ and on Sunday they placed 2nd in the large Training 2 AA/YR class with a 67.143%! Jackie & Phantom
were also named Georgian Grande High Point Champions for this show. Phantom looked great and Jackie is
really looking forward to their next show together. Fallon took Guilliani into the First Level Freestyle class for
the second time this weekend. He was still a bit nervous with the music, but still managed to place 4th out of the
eight Freestyle rides. Judge Elizabeth Lewis commented "Good ride!". On Sunday, Guilliani won the First
Level 4 Open with a 67.5% which made him the First Level Open High Score Champion for this show! Fallon
and Kelly want to send a big "Thank You"!" to the Lipton family and Sean Gatton for all their help and making
this weekend a fun one. Guilliani and Phantom would never have looked quite so spiffy, if it wasn't for Jenny's
great braiding during the show! Some great show photos from Sean Gatton will be coming soon!
2007 Markel/USEF Young Horse National Dressage Championships

Only 0.34 points behind the leader, Willy Arts, Guilliani placed 3rd during the USEF Four Year Old Warm-Up
Test at the YH Finals. Despite the fact that Fallon mounted Guilliani only seven minutes prior to her start time,
he still managed to prove why he deserves to be right behind Willy Arts' fabulous Waterloo and the well known
Jan Brons' Willa. Judges Marianne Ludwig and Jeanne McDonald gave scores as high as an 8.3 for Guilliani's
gaits and were impressed with his ability to go in and show so much quality on such a small amount of warm-up.
Saturday morning, we were all very excited to get Guilliani ready for his final test. Up until now he has more
than proven what we have always believed him to be, a gifted young horse with the gaits, mind and abilities to
easily reach FEI. The prior days test continued to prove to us that he is one of the top four year olds in the US.
But as horses go, anything can happen.... And it did.
As he entered the extravagant competition arena and felt the electric atmosphere, he became overwhelmed.
Several times throughout the test this got the best of him. With many distractions and a bolt during his canter
work, he received his lowest submission score ever. Because of this, the panel was forced to lower Guilliani's
overall score to finish at a 7.30. Although we were all dismayed, we were comforted and reminded by several
people, included several fellow competitors, of Guilliani's winning show year and many high scoring tests. He
finished as the 5th highest scoring US bred four year old and eleventh in the nation overall. During the awards
ceremony, Anne Gribbons and Marianne Ludwig stopped after the photo session to give Guilliani a few sugar
cubes and a pat on the neck. Afterwards, he was told that he was unforgettable. We agree!!
2007 Dressage at Devon & CDI

I think every competition season should be ended with a trip to Devon. What a great show. From the
atmosphere and competition arenas, to the vendors and entertainment the entire week was wonderful.
First off, Fallon's student Jackie Lipton and FWF Prince of Thieves
aka Phantom took third in the first class
(International Sport Horse Registry) out of a large class of beautiful horses. Later, Jackie and Phantom entered
the Georgian Grande Registry class and were named Grande Champion In-Hand! (last years champion was
also in this class). Jackie came away with several large ribbons and two trophies for her win. Look for Jackie
and Phantom's great results to pop up on some of the GG websites soon!
Fallon also took her four year old Hanoverian gelding Guilliani into the Open Int. USEF 4 Year Old Test class.
There were many talented, gorgeous young horses in this class and it was quite a tough competition. Guilliani
did wonderful and placed fifth! Each judge had great comments to make and Fallon and Kelly were extremely
proud of Guilliani. This is a great way to end Guilliani's 4 Year Old Young Horse season.
"I would like to thank Mr. Lipton and Jackie for all of their help with this show and during the entire season.
And of course my mother Kelly for all of the hours of dedication she has put into us to make this season
possible. I couldn't have done it without you!"
USDF/ABIC Region I Championships

Three horses that were imported from German and Holland competed on October 25-28, 2007 at the USDF
Region I Championships in Lexington, Virginia. They competed at Training level, First level, Third level, Fourth
level and FEI Prix st Georges. We are very proud of their results! Super, purchased in July by Knollman
Dressage, won both Fourth Level Test 3 Open classes entered at the VADA Open Show running in conjunction
with the Finals. Great work! Go to www.VirginiaDressage.org for full results of the competition and finals.
